Full Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions will be deemed to have been accepted by you when placing an order with English Rose Stationery and shall prevail over any other document or communication.

1. Ordering and Cancellation

Your order will be considered to have been placed after your completed order form and payment has been received by English Rose Stationery.

You should order all of your required stationery items at the same time to ensure that we book space in the diary closer to your Wedding date for production of the additional items. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that we will have availability should you wish to subsequently add to your order.

Where you do not have precise numbers for additional items at the time of ordering, (place cards for example) approximate numbers should be used. These can be adjusted once you know your final guest numbers and your final invoice is prepared.

If you wish to cancel your order within 24 hours of the order being placed, 95% of the order value will be refunded. If an order is cancelled after this time, no refund will be given.

2. Payment

Payment for stationery is required prior to commencement of your order. Your stationery is fully personalised and therefore bespoke to your wedding and cannot be started until full payment is received.

With regards to split orders, the invitations will require full payment up front with a 20% non refundable deposit on the additional items ordered, with the final balance payable prior to commencement of the additional stationery.

Payment must be made in a timely manner. In the event of late payment, the lead time will be pushed back accordingly.

3. Lead Times

The lead time for Invitations is normally 4-5 weeks from order. This may fluctuate depending on our workload and time of year but you will be informed if this is the case. (Please remember that ALL stationery is handmade!)

If you require your invitations by a particular day, please do let us know and we can then see if this timescale can be met.

4. Delivery

Deliveries will be sent to your invoice address, unless we are informed of a different delivery address at the time of ordering for which there is a section on our Customer Confirmation Form which you will receive on placement of an order. Please bear in mind that all deliveries will need to be signed for upon receipt, therefore, you may wish to have your order sent to a work address or parent’s address.

Please also inform us of any periods where you may not be around to receive deliveries, i.e. a holiday, so that we can ensure we do not dispatch during this time.

We are unable to give you an exact time of delivery via the courier; however, you will be able to track your parcel online. If the courier attempts to deliver your parcel and leaves a ‘While you were out’ card but you do not contact them to arrange re-delivery, the parcel will be returned to English Rose Stationery and you will be required to pay another delivery charge for the parcel to be re-sent.
English Rose Stationery cannot guarantee delivery on any particular date. If you require stationery to arrive on a particular date we will do our best to arrange the delivery accordingly but cannot guarantee this.

IMPORTANT: English Rose Stationery cannot be held responsible for delays in delivery due to circumstances out of our control, such as postal strikes or adverse weather conditions. English Rose Stationery shall not be liable for any losses, damages or expenses incurred by the customer arising out of any delays in delivery or damage or loss during transit.

5. Proofs

Electronic proofs are sent automatically for all relevant stationery items.

It is YOUR responsibility to check through the proof thoroughly to ensure all spellings, font, layout etc is to your complete satisfaction. The proof can be amended as many times as necessary, and should you make any changes, a revised proof is always emailed through with the relevant changes.

You will then be required to email us your approval and confirmation on the wording proofs and once this has been received by English Rose Stationery, this is a binding contract.

Any amendments required after the wording has been approved will incur additional charges.

No proofs will be supplied for items requiring printed guest names, for example, place cards and table plans. You will need to supply us with a list of the names and it is your responsibility to ensure that ALL spellings are correct. Should you require any amendments to the names after supplying us with the list, additional charges will be incurred.

6. Supply of Information

You are responsible for ensuring that all information sent to English Rose Stationery is correct. This includes spellings of guest names for invitations, table plans and any other items.

Printing of stationery may begin immediately after the information/guest list is received, and therefore no amendments can be accepted after such information is sent to us.

7. Refunds

As all stationery is personalised, we regret that we cannot offer refunds.

Any defects or errors with goods must be reported to English Rose Stationery by email within 48 hours of the goods being received by the customer. After 48 hours, the goods will be deemed to have been accepted by you.

In the event that the error reported is a typographical error by us (i.e. it differs from the guest list or wording supplied by the customer) English Rose Stationery shall replace the item(s) affected. In these circumstances you may be required to return the item(s), in original packaging, if requested to do so by us. English Rose Stationery will ask you to return the items to us by Royal Mail and you will be reimbursed for the postage cost. Replacement items will be sent out as soon as possible.

IMPORTANT: Reprints or refunds will not be made if the goods contain errors but are as ordered by you. It is therefore vital that you ensure that the information and guest names given to English Rose Stationery are correct. English Rose Stationery accepts no responsibility for checking your spellings and is not responsible for running a spell check on stationery wording.

8. Prices

The prices of goods are listed on our website and exclude delivery. English Rose Stationery reserves the right to change prices at any time without prior notice.

Quotes remain valid for a period of 6 months from the date on the quote and shall not be affected by any price increases during this period.

9. Website

English Rose Stationery makes every effort to ensure that all information contained on our website is correct and to ensure that the descriptions and images are a true representation of our products. However English Rose Stationery shall not be responsible for any errors or omissions on the website.

Materials and colours cannot always be accurately displayed on a computer screen, we therefore recommend that you order a sample to ensure a precise colour match before placing an order.

10. Variations

As all of our stationery is made by hand, very slight variations between items is natural. We take great care to keep variations between items in each order to an absolute minimum.

We reserve the right to substitute materials for similar products should materials become unavailable, however we will always inform the customer if we need to substitute a product for one that is significantly different to the one pictured/described on our website.

11. Copyright and Data Protection

English Rose Stationery will not share your personal details with any third party and will not send you any marketing material.

English Rose Stationery reserves the right to use images of your stationery on our website.

All stationery designs on our website are the sole property of English Rose Stationery and shall not be copied or reproduced in whole or in part, whether for business or personal use. Any infringement of copyright of our designs shall be vigorously pursued and will result in legal action.

All images and text on this website are the property of English Rose Stationery (unless otherwise credited) and must not be copied or reproduced without prior consent.

It is your responsibility to obtain the correct copyright permission for hymns, readings or pictures to be included in your stationery. You agree to indemnify English Rose Stationery against any action for breach of copyright of such items.

12. Safety

Our stationery is not intended for use by children as the small embellishments used may represent a choking hazard if detached. Please keep out of reach of children and babies.

13. Force Majeure

English Rose Stationery shall not be responsible for any delays or failure to perform its obligations if such delay or failure is caused by events or circumstances beyond its control. This includes, but is not limited to, acts of God, war, fire, strikes, failure of communications or computer systems, shortage or unavailability of raw materials, or extreme weather.

In such circumstances English Rose Stationery shall use reasonable endeavours to perform its obligations as soon as is reasonably practicable but accept no liability to compensate you for any loss or inconvenience arising from such delay or failures described above.

14. Responsibility and Storage of Stationery

Liability for loss and damage of products passes to you upon delivery or on the date of the first attempted delivery by the courier or Royal Mail.

You are responsible for performing a final check of names and details on stationery before items are used or sent out to guests.

It is your responsibility to ensure that invitations are sent to the correct guests. In some cases this will involve untying a ribbon or removing a band from around the invitation.

Once stationery is received by you, it is your responsibility to ensure that it remains in good condition. Stationery should be in a dry environment at room temperature. If exposed to damp or very hot/cold conditions, stationery may become bent or damaged and this is not a fault of the product.

Delivery Terms and Conditions

Most of our orders are sent by Courier so that they can be fully tracked on line. Smaller orders may be sent via Royal Mail if preferred. The maximum P&P charge that can be incurred for one order is £20.00, which covers a maximum of 2 shipments. (Invitations are sent in the first shipment with the additional stationery items sent in the second shipment). However, delivery charges are PER ORDER. If you place your order for invitations and then place a separate order later on for additional items, further delivery charges will be incurred. Please contact us if you require overseas delivery (including the Republic of Ireland). An additional charge may also be payable for delivery to Highlands & Islands of Scotland. If you find that you need a few extra invitations after you receive your order, a small additional charge for postage via Royal Mail will apply.
